Jack Butler came to all Neville's meetings and dined with Neville and his wife Bill every weeknight they did not entertain, praising every dish and washing the dishes while Neville dried; he was a New York-born Irishman full of blarney who refused to marry, and after he died Neville had to do both the washing and the drying.
