An American Hebrew item, 'Jews With Black Skins', describes an unnamed blind black Jew who had been travelling the United States (West, South, North) and was last heard from in Hartford, communicating by writing-pad; the writer presumes him a Falasha or Abyssinian Jew. The piece broadens into a survey of other black Jewish communities: the Falashas (linked to the Alliance Israelite Universelle and M. Hallevi's mission), Yemen Jews, black Jews of Cochin China and Jamaica (children of mixed marriages), and the Bene Israel of Bombay.
