A piece in American Hebrew (reprinted here from an Oregon newspaper) reports periodic press items about 'a blind black Jew' touring the United States — West, South and North, last heard from in Hartford — who communicates by writing pad and is fluent in Hebrew. The writer presumes him a Falasha or Abyssinian Jew, and surveys other black Jewish communities: the Falashas (reached by the Alliance Israelite Universelle's mission under M. Hallevi), Yemen Jews, black Jews of Cochin China and Jamaica (children of mixed marriages), and the Bene Israel of Bombay (restored to Judaism by the Anglo-Jewish Association of London). Collected by CWB as background for Neville's description of his teacher Abdullah as an Ethiopian Jew; this traveler is not named and his relation, if any, to the other named itinerant travelers in this corpus (Waltzkowitz, Valskabomann, Wolskowicy) is not established here.
