Walter Lanyon, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Lanyon of South Main Street, Carthage, had spent the past year in Europe: the winter in Paris employed by the American Express Company, with excursions through France, and time visiting relatives in London, Cornwall and Essex. He sailed for home on the White Star liner Celtic on June 6, then travelled to Carthage to visit his parents.
