After a week visiting his parents — named in this clipping as Mr. and Mrs. S. Lanyon, and as Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Lanyon in the same paper's Shanghai travel letter (hist_event 20187) — at 1118 South Main Street, Carthage, Missouri, Walter C. Lanyon left 'last night' for the west coast to continue his lecture work, immediately following his return from the round-the-world tour. The street number is what this clipping gives. Edith May Lanyon's 1916 death notice (hist_event 20186) puts the parents' home at 1125 South Main Street. The two have not been reconciled: the family may have moved along the street in the intervening twelve years, or one of the two numbers may be a misprint or an OCR error.
