This is the earliest employment the corpus records for him. It sits immediately before the 1911 crossing, and is followed by the winter he spent in Paris employed by the American Express Company (hist_event 20154), so the sequence runs: Chicago railroad office, Europe from mid-1911, American Express in Paris over the winter, home on the Celtic in June 1912. The railroad is not named and the length of the employment is given only as 'some months'.
