John McDonald of San Jose gives a week of lectures, each afternoon and evening at 3:00 and 8:00, on 'The Principles of Phenomenal Success' ('How Successful People Succeed'), at the Church of Truth, 333 Summit Avenue. Described as 'a highly successful business man' who 'learned a way by which to rise from the class who "get by" to the [class who get on].' A Sunday evening pageant at the same church depicted the 'ultimate victory of certain defeated leaders' (Paul, Galileo, Luther, William Lloyd Garrison). The clipping is a multi-church notices column; unrelated Easter sermon notices from other Pasadena-area churches (Rev. H.B. Macrory's 'The Triumphant Christ', Rev. H. Edward Mills' 'Why Seek the Living Among the Dead?') appear on the same scanned page but are not part of this event.
