A grandmother wrote to Neville about her three-year-old grandson, whom Neville had met the previous summer. The boy has two imaginary elephant playmates, Mumbo and Jumbo, whom he talks to as though they were real. When his grandmother brought out records of Hawaiian music she had brought home, along with one of Neville's own recordings, the boy insisted on hearing 'Neville's record' instead, telling her, 'I know Neville.'
