A member of a hunting-and-fishing club wrote to Neville describing how, realizing he had read Neville's books and believed his teaching without ever applying it, he resolved to test the technique on something literal: he imagined himself already having landed a huge trout, then went fishing with his club. His first outing produced only a six-pound catch (a boy in the party landed a nine-pounder), but that night he again imagined the catch beforehand, and the next day hooked and landed a twelve-and-a-half-pound trout -- the largest the club had ever recorded. Neville received the man's letter describing it the morning before this lecture.
