Neville recalls that although the deep, conscious understanding of his spiritual experience did not come until July 1959, he had actually first met and stood in the presence of God -- infinite love -- almost thirty years before that, around 1929 or 1930. He describes being unable, at the time, to believe that so small and flawed a being as himself could be so graced or chosen, comparing his disbelief to the years it took the violent, zealous Paul to accept his own calling.
