As a young man in his twenties, Neville was taken in vision into a 'divine society' and first encountered 'infinite might' -- sheer power with no trace of mercy, peace, or love. Within the same society he then met 'infinite love,' who embraced him, and at that moment he became one with it. He was sent back before the first, more forbidding presence, which commanded him to go into the world and tell the story. He describes this as the unfolding of the divine name I AM through ascending levels, from sheer power up to its ultimate revelation as love.
