Reflecting on a letter he received the previous Tuesday night from a man in his audience, Neville says that the man is now in the same state of 'spiritual shock' that has left Neville himself permanently changed since 1959 -- an experience so profound that a person can no longer be the self their friends once knew. He then relates the letter itself: lying in a semi-trance, the man fell into a deeper state and, in what felt like an instantaneous journey of a million miles, discovered his own being to be the 'womb of the universe,' containing a female element he had never before been aware of in himself.
