A woman came to Neville's home the day before this lecture, unable to wait to write out an account of her vision: having taken his suggestion to fall asleep affirming 'I am Jesus Christ,' she first heard an unseen lecture on Peter, James, and John as personifications of faith, hope, and love, and the following night heard Blake's voice repeating 'You become what you behold' before seeing herself in a mirror transfigured into a being of flawless, heavenly beauty. She was so overcome with excitement that she could barely put the experience into words, and Neville asked her to write it out properly.
