Neville describes turning his attention inward during a period of contemplative Silence in 1934, when his head began to glow with pulsing golden light and a solid block of quartz materialized before him, shattered into countless fragments, and was then reassembled by an unseen hand into a Buddha seated in the lotus posture -- with his own face, raised to a perfection he had never seen in a mirror. He later learned that Carl Jung, who could not have known of him, described an almost identical experience -- himself seated in the lotus posture -- occurring in 1944, a decade after his own.
