Neville describes literally experiencing, about thirty years earlier, what scripture describes as being a pillar of cloud by day: walking down 55th Street, he suddenly began seeing everyone he passed enveloped in an enormous cloud so vast it passed through the walls of buildings on either side, and at night the same figures appeared wreathed in fire instead. He says the ability never fully left him and that he can still see it whenever he chooses to look.
