Neville recalls reading, some eight to ten years before this July 1968 talk, a magazine article about theatrical stars and their mothers - how those mothers raised their children to feel important rather than made to feel lesser. He uses the story to illustrate his teaching that treating a child, or anyone, as important in one's imagination is what lets that person become important in fact.
