A man told Neville a story about experimenting with imaginal action: he recalled sleeping in a basement in Denver next to a deep freeze, as recorded in a case history Neville says he received the previous morning. Wanting to return to Denver, the man spent one night, while physically elsewhere, imagining himself back in that same basement beside the deep freeze. Neville offers the story as an illustration that it is the imagination, not the physical body, that produces the experience.
