Neville describes his two brothers, Lawrence (a doctor, father of the two nephews from the Barbados beach story) and Victor (head of the family businesses), visiting him in New York the previous November. Neither brother could accept his teaching, but both wanted to tour New York's churches with him. At St. Thomas Church he told Victor that tapestries hid the building's finest stained-glass windows, and that the church's benefactor, Rockefeller, had had them covered out of spite - a story that lowered Victor's opinion of Rockefeller considerably, even though (Neville notes) Rockefeller himself died believing he was a believer in Jesus without ever truly finding him.
