Neville recalls that, many years before this lecture, an inner voice told him he does not move in waking any more than he moves on his bed in sleep -- that all apparent motion, waking or dreaming, is only a movement in mind. He notes the paradox that this came to him on a day he had travel plans taking him out of his New York apartment, using it to argue that even literal travel is, at the deepest level, only motion within consciousness.
