Neville reports that Mike Quill, the Transport Workers Union leader who had been jailed weeks earlier for defying a court injunction during a New York transit strike and had cursed the sentencing judge on television ('May he drop dead in his black robes'), suffered a heart attack in prison, was released, and died that very day. He uses Quill's fate as an illustration of 'as a man sows, so does he reap.'
