A friend named Benny told Neville that, having come home the previous Saturday afternoon, he had a dream in which he found himself in a garden-like meeting place for lovers and saw Neville standing beyond a lattice framework. When Benny approached and began listing everything he desired, Neville told him in the dream, 'Don't desire, live it!' Benny woke, wrote the dream down at once, and brought it to Neville, who used it that night to illustrate the difference between merely desiring a thing and living from the assumption it is already so.
