The torn garment is the scaffolding - this body - and the seamless tunic is the immortal garment, the human form divine, which is not torn but won. The four tears are the four events, and he names them: the first is in the skull, the awakening in the sepulchre and the birth from above, which he counts as one because it takes place in one night; the second is the explosion in which David appears and calls you Father, so that the Son reveals who the Father is; the third is when every stone is split, every segment of the spinal column severed and seen separated by inches, fulfilling Matthew 27; and the fourth is the taking off of the garment for the last time, which no one receives until he makes his exit from this world. He insists he bears no scars to prove it and that he felt everything in his flesh. The casting of lots is not decoration either: there are always four, because the fourth one falls heir to the next unveiling of the temple, and he places himself in it - I stood in the drama in the depths of my soul and cast lots for his robe, and got the fourth part, so I came into the world playing the part of the fourth.
