He always attaches it to the same obligation - he who has had the experiences must share it with everyone who is left behind - and he always glosses it physically rather than devotionally: I could no more restrain the impulse to tell you what I have experienced than I could stop breathing now and expect to be five minutes later still in this world. So the speaking is presented as involuntary, which removes the last claim he might make on anyone's gratitude and also answers the charge of self-advertisement. It is the verse he uses when someone has told him not to talk about it.
