Hebrews 9:22, in about six lectures (41, 1127, 1210, 1250, 1824, 1890), and Neville takes it literally while refusing the literal animal. He names the level he will not work on: to this very day there are those who believe that on the Day of Atonement some living being must be destroyed, and that is the most external of all levels, where we do everything on the outside in the hope of appeasing some god. So the blood that must be shed is the blood of Christ Jesus - and Christ is your own wonderful human Imagination. Shedding it means dying to the man you are: I am aware that I am a certain man and I desire to transcend it, I have to die to that man, therefore blood is shed. I detach myself mentally from the man that I am now keeping alive. The sacrifice is of a state one has been sustaining, and the cost is real because the state was alive only by being fed. Two supports travel with it. The English word atone originally meant at one - it is an at-one - so atonement, forgiveness and remission are treated as synonyms. And 1210 completes the identification without flinching: whose blood is it? The blood of God. So if I looked at the blood of God and I knew I am it. At 1890 the same verse yields self-sacrifice - who sacrificed him? The Father. And who is the Father? I and my Father are one - and at 1127 the blood seen in vision is the most wonderful golden living liquid light.
