John 4 read psychologically: the woman of Samaria is the three-dimensional self, Jesus at the well the fourth-dimensional self. She objects that the well is deep and he has no bucket or rope (no means); he offers living water. Her five husbands are the five senses that impregnate consciousness, the womb of God, morning, noon and night with their limitations; the one she would have is not yet her husband. He has meat to eat she knows not of and says the fields are white already to harvest: the desired state exists now.
