Matthew 10:34, 'I come not to bring peace, but a sword': truth comes as a sword that slays the illusions and idols of the mind, its 'little mud hens', and then remolds the same substance into a new pattern that sets man free, as in the apocryphal story of the boy Jesus who knocks the children's mud birds from their hands, remolds one and breathes it into flight.
