Psychological interpretation
A passing change of mood is not a transformation: one must remain in the assumed state until it is stable and all one's energies flow from it, no longer thinking of the state but from it. The state that grows stable enough to expel all its rivals becomes the central, habitual state of consciousness from which one thinks, and defines one's character.

A little alteration of mood is not a transformation
I am no longer thinking of that state. I am thinking from that state
wherever a state grows so stable as to definitely expel all of its rivals, then that central, habitual state of consciousness from which I think defines my character
That is the secret: thinking from what I want, instead of thinking of what I want
