John 3:13 ('no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man'), with Proverbs 30:4 ('Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended?') and Ephesians 4:9-10: the one who ascends is the same being who first descended. Man is a pre-existent being who went down the ladder of consciousness into this world of forgetfulness and confusion to discover his own being, and the one who rises again is he who came down.
