To one lifted up in consciousness, objects cease to be mere objects and become expressions of meaning, as a book rises from a thing in space to marks on paper to meaning. Birds in flight, trees, clouds, ripples and the strangers who board a bus all speak, and not one thing happens by accident: the world is the open book of God, read according to one's level of awareness.
