Biblical typology

1 Peter 1:10-12: the prophets who foretold the sufferings of Christ and the glory to follow searched and inquired what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them indicated, and it was revealed that they served not themselves but us. The Old Testament foretold what the New records, but those who wrote it did not understand it; they recorded faithfully what the voice dictated, for our time.
