Having awakened in another world while holding an object there, and come back to this one, Neville asks where that other body was when he returned: have I not many bodies, for I am scattered over all the world? Man, as he begins to awake, collects the scattered portions of himself, and then he finally finds the being that is God. Awakening is therefore a gathering of what was dispersed, not an addition of anything new.
