Since the creation of the world his invisible nature has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made, so they are without excuse; but although they knew God they did not honour him, their senseless minds were darkened, and claiming to be wise they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man - and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator. Neville applies it exactly: imagine money into being, make a million, and suddenly you worship the million and not the power that made it possible; enter a social circle by imagining and then think the circle is what matters. Everything visible will vanish, and that which brought things into being cannot cease to be - so the exchange is always of the permanent for the perishable.
