A professor Neville admires - a master of a college in the University - was asked by a friend to comment on the title of Your Faith Is Your Fortune, and wrote back: 'You would like me to comment? I presume he took the statement Your face is your fortune and just changed the one word.' He had not read the book. Neville answers from Proverbs: he who answers before he hears, it is shame and folly to him. He adds that the professor disapproves of the words Faith and Fortune and is nevertheless coming to America for money, and will not refuse the cheque when it is offered; and that professors are so filled with data already outdated that they are full of ignorance, teaching from unrevised books so that students memorise what is known to be inaccurate to get a degree.
