Looking at the monster he pledged, without turning to anyone for help and without pledging himself in anyone's presence, that he would redeem it though it took him eternity - and at that moment he discovered it was not an entity at all but an embodied force. The creature melted and left no trace of ever having been present, and as it melted all the energy it embodied returned to him who gave it; he says he has never felt such power in his life, while the glorious one glowed. He closes with the practical form: both are present now, wherever you go, and every loving self-persuasion feeds one and starves the other. It isn't his fault; we gave him birth.
