Neville's claim that the servant chapters are not prophecy about someone else but a script he went through himself, and in one night. He is candid that it surprised him: who would have thought - I know I didn't - that the story recorded in the twenty-second and fifty-third chapters of Isaiah would be experienced in one night? He notes first that the chapter divisions are not the prophets' work; the visions were written out unparagraphed and unpunctuated, with one word flowing into the next, and it is man who added verses and chapters - so the two chapters are one vision. Then the vision itself: he is sitting on the floor in a small room with twelve men before him, all in robes, teaching the word of God, when one of the twelve gets up quickly and goes to the only door, and Neville knows as he moves what he is going to do - tell the authorities what is being taught. He calls it self-betrayal, because no one knows the thoughts of a man but the spirit of the man in him, so if he betrayed God he would have to be the Spirit of God. Then Isaiah 22 is enacted on him: the peg fastened in a sure place, hammered into his shoulder, and on it hung the whole weight of the responsibility - which he reads as the responsibility to tell it, and at the end the peg gives way and he is relieved of the burden. Isaiah 53 supplies the question he is left with: who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He dates it precisely - the tenth of October 1966 - and elsewhere insists there is no description of the man in whom God awoke, because he is never a sculptured beautiful man on the outside but a perfectly normal person: a man of sorrows, despised and rejected of men. The attach lead reported the gap with a lecture list (2032, 1377, 60, 1158, 1286, 1891, 2047); I read the passages before coining but have not read those lectures whole. The architect ruled out-of-sequence coining acceptable on this condition (PM 6056). Anything here about the shape of a whole lecture should be treated as unverified until the read arrives.
