Revelation 19:10 turned from a description into an obligation. Because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy, everything that happened to him is prophecy of what must happen to the hearer: everything that happens to him must happen to me, must happen to you, whatever the state - all of it. Neville therefore says that nothing in this world is more important than that the testimony be heard and responded to, and he is deliberate about not requiring assent: the response may be negative, as at the close of Acts, where Paul spent a day from morning to evening arguing from Moses and the prophets, and some were convinced and others disbelieved. That is the hearer's privilege; what is not optional is the hearing. He adds the reason the testimony is trustworthy in the speaker's own words - these words are not mine, they are the words of him who sent me - so the testimony is an echo of the one who raised him, not an opinion. About nineteen lectures carry 'the testimony of Jesus' and fifteen 'the spirit of prophecy'.
