Now let me share with you what’s been given to me. The gentleman is here tonight and this is his story as given me last Tuesday night after the meeting. He said, “Last week I was having serious difficulty with a story. I was satisfied with the dialogue, the scenes were all right individually, but for some reason or other I just wasn’t satisfied with the story. So Sunday morning, realizing that the story was the problem and not my treatment of the story, I did this. I put myself into the shoes of Robert Louis Stevenson and then I imagined how he must have felt after he had written a good story. Then, I went back and put on my own shoes and tried to match that feeling which I had imagined to be Stevenson’s feeling as he felt having produced a good story.”206 ¶14
