But I’ve found in all who have had it—and I’m going into my closest circle of friends and relatives—they forget it in the end. They don’t forget the law, but they become so much what they dreamed of being that they crow, just as though—and I can’t deny that they did do it—but it was the law, a simple principle, that their porter could have done.
