You may be the wisest man in the world. A friend of mine sent Your Faith is Your Fortune, my book, to this professor of physics in Australia. He wrote back immediately he wouldn’t read the book. First of all, the title offended him. Your faith is your fortune, for without faith you would never have a fortune…it is your fortune. He said it was a play on the statement, your face is your fortune. Then again, what offended him was my chapter on the disciples, to treat them as psychological states rather than persons. That offended him because he is in the state of consciousness where scripture, if secularly true, it is all secular history. And it’s not! It’s sacred history.302 ¶52
