So, he was present and “As you said it, I remembered” and this is what he remembered. He said, “A few months ago I read in the daily paper a story about a dishonest investment broker. I instantly revised it, changed the entire thing, because I, too, am an investment broker. And I determined that I didn’t want anyone with whom I dealt to ever feel anything other than trust towards me. I wanted absolute trust from everyone who came to my office and sought my services, but I mean absolute trust. Having revised that story, I bathed and wallowed in the feeling of trustworthiness. Then I forgot it, completely forgot it. On September the 28th a man called me and he said to me, ‘I do not know you, but I’m a friend of a client of yours, and I would like to make an investment.’ So he told me what he wanted and I accepted his request and bought a mutual fund, as he requested. This last Friday, when I heard this, that very afternoon before I came here I called my office from Los Angeles and asked if there were any messages for me. They said, Yes, Mr. X wants you to call him. I will not tell you his name, just say Mr. X. So he said I put the call in and this is what he said. Now he’s a client as of Sept. the 28th, this is now October, he said, ‘I have not seen you, I do not know you, I haven’t met you, but friends of mine know you, and I have a feeling that I would trust you’…with emphasis on trust. Now, he said, ‘I have many friends, but I have a feeling I can trust you, and I want you to be a co-trustee of my estate. Will you come to see me on Wednesday to discuss the matter?’”313 ¶12
