Eight years ago when Nixon ran against Kennedy, a friend of mine sent him a record of mine, and he wrote a very sweet letter to the lady who sent him the record and said he’s added it to his library…and he will have many moments of joy in listening to that record…that’s what he said. The lady gave me the letter and I kept it, I have it at home. Well, he lost, and then he lost two years later for the governorship of this state. And here, eight years later he comes back and his dream has flowered, has come true. I am quite sure that with his background of listening to the inner voice that the record which was The Law and the Promise sparked something in him.489 ¶48
