He held it for eight years and then his boss quit, and as is the custom when the new boss came in he brought his own personnel so Sam was out. But because of eight years’ service in that capacity, he was offered all kinds of jobs and he took a junior partnership in a brokerage house. So now he’s a partner in a brokerage house doing remarkably well…a man my age, in fact, the same month in the same year. We never discuss this principle at all. He wants his own archaic concept of a man he calls Jesus Christ. He doesn’t want a living Christ within himself that is his own wonderful human Imagination. He doesn’t want that, no, he wants something that is historical, something that happened 2,000 years ago, and that to him is Christ.506 ¶16
