Someone called me up and said, “My brother shot a man, killed him.” I didn’t ask why. He loved his brother as he loved his mother, who was weeping and weeping and carrying on. I said, I will hear the good news for you. It went on and on for about nine months and the verdict came in, freed, acquitted. He killed him and he knew he killed him, shot him. Why he shot him I never once asked the brother. It’s not my concern. He asked me to help. Well, all I could do was simply do what if I were the father of such a boy, I would want him set free. I can’t bring the one he killed back, but I would certainly want my son set free if I were the father of such a person. I do not believe in an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. So I simply assumed that I heard his voice and it was ecstatic as he told me that his brother was set free. Well, his brother was set free.741 ¶55
