Then he said, “The same month of December, I went to the grocery store and as I went through the door here was a friend of my son. This chap is called Gary. He was selling mistletoe. He didn’t look very happy about it, and so I said, ‘Gary, how are sales going?’ He said, ‘They aren’t going very well.’ When I got outside by myself I went into the Silence and I heard my son say to me that Gary sold all the mistletoe and he made a profit of fourteen dollars.” So, he said, “I can’t tell you why I picked out fourteen dollars, other than the boy is only twelve and I thought fourteen dollars profit was good for this time. It’s enough for a lad of twelve. And so I just said, I heard my son say he sold all the mistletoe and he made a profit of fourteen dollars. Well, two days before Christmas when I came into the living room I noticed among the decorations some holly, and I inquired, ‘Well, where did the holly come from?’ My son said, ‘Well, Gary had some left over and he gave me some holly.’ So then I asked, ‘What happened to the mistletoe?’ Oh, he said, ‘He sold all the mistletoe and he made a profit of fourteen dollars.’”787 ¶10
