Some years before his awakening, Neville was taken in spirit into a world just like this one and shown the power that would be his: by arresting a rhythm or activity within himself he stopped the people, and everything in space, dead still, and when he released it they moved on and completed their intentions; this happened on several later occasions with similar scenes, including a bird in flight and a falling leaf.
