In a vision Neville led an enormous festive multitude in procession toward the house of God; a voice said God walked with them and was at the woman's side, she looked into Neville's face and asked hysterically whether Neville was God, the voice answered 'Yes, in the act of waking', and then a voice from the depths of his soul told him it had laid itself down within him to sleep and dreamed it was he — whereupon he was nailed upon his body as on a cross, each wound a vortex of joy.
