Neville recounts his own experience of moving in Spirit 150 or 200 years back into a New England house where four people — two young men in their twenties and their parents in their forties — were dining and a waitress was bringing the next course; unseen, he arrested the activity within himself and everything froze into death — the bird in flight did not fall, the waitress could not walk, the soup froze — and when he released it everything came alive again and continued on its course.
