Neville recounts a vision in which he led an enormous crowd in Arabic costume in procession to the house of God; a voice said God walked with them, a woman beside him looked into his face and asked hysterically whether Neville was God, and the voice answered 'Yes, in the act of waking' — after which a voice from the depths of his soul told him it had lain down within him to sleep and dreamed it was he.
