Neville led an enormous, gay, festive multitude in procession to the house of God; a voice from outer space said God walked with them, told the woman at his side that God was at her side, and when she looked into his face and laughed that "Neville is God" the voice answered "Yes, in the act of waking"; then a voice within said it had laid itself down in him to sleep and dreamed it was he, and as he returned to this level his hands, head and feet were nailed by vortices.
