Recently, in a waking dream, knowing his body lay in California in the century '69, he held an enormous squeezed pile of banknotes; a fat-faced woman of about forty stole a handful and raged when passers-by grabbed the fluttering bills, a thief offered him a taxi and a crowd closed in intending to kill him, so he chose to wake and rob both them and himself of the money.
